Infiniti QX50 Concept revealed ahead of 2017 Detroit Motor Show

Infiniti has revealed an image of the QX50 Concept ahead of its global premiere at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

An evolution of the 2016 QX Sport Inspiration, the QX50 Concept shows how the design of its conceptual forebear could be adapted for a future production model in the world’s fastest-growing vehicle segment. INFINITI’s latest concept confidently articulates the artistic influence of the designer through the brand’s ‘Powerful Elegance’ design language. A ‘cabin-forward’ silhouette combines with taut, muscular lines and flowing surfaces telegraph it as a dynamic and practical SUV.

Infiniti claim that the QX50 Concept shows the design features of the QX Inspiration but on a vehicle that could be adapted for production. The new concept is very similar to its predecessors except for a few vital features that have been adjusted to make the car more realistic.

At the front of the car remains a bold grille with a massive Infiniti badge, flanked by sharp LED headlights and daytime running lights. However the design of the front splitter has now been changed and is now complimented by low-set strips on either side. The long bonnet's slope isn't so pronounced which improves visibility for the driver.

As of yet, no images of the QX50 Concept's interior has been released. Although Infiniti have promised that the interior will be a "driver-centric, passenger minded" space with premium craftsmanship throughout.
