FG Barnes SEAT accredited by Motors Ombudsman

At Maidstone and Canterbury

The Motor Ombudsman is the automotive dispute resolution body. It provides a self-regulatory environment for the motor sector using its Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI)-approved Motor Industry Codes of Practice, and is the first voluntary and fully impartial private sector ombudsman for the automotive industry.

Vehicle Sales Code

This code is the newest to join the Motor Industry Code of Practice and achieved full CTSI approval in October 2016. This code provides reassurance to motorists during the process of purchasing a new vehicle and is applicable to both main and independent retailers.

This code ensures that wording in advertising and pricing is transparent and easy to understand, a full vehicle history check when selling a used car, and accurate advice on warranty and finance products. Customers also benefit from a test drive, and a full vehicle handover including all available historic documentation, service history and a valid MOT certificate, and will not be pressured by pushy sales.

Service and Repair Code

The Service and Repair Code ensures garages adhere to an open, transparent and fair method of business, aiming to consistently maintain high standards across the industry.

When a garage is subscribed to this code, it demonstrates its commitment to operate as a responsible business and continuously delivers a high level of customer satisfaction.

This code ensures that there are honest and fair services for every customer, work is completed as agreed and there is open and transparent pricing from the start. All invoices are guaranteed to match quoted prices and the dealership will offer a straightforward complaints procedure should a complaint be necessary.

FG Barnes SEAT Maidstone and Canterbury sites have both been accredited to The Motor Ombudsman for Vehicle Sales and Service and Repair, so you can be sure to receive a professional, reliable service.
