Meanwhile, Justin Lamba moves to support David Rose with dealer franchising. He was formerly the brand's dealer commercial manager for South East England, and has previous sales, business development and customer support experience from a number of automotive brands including DaimlerChrysler, Daihatsu and Mondial Assistance.
'The arrival of Rexton and Musso has resulted in significant levels of interest in our franchise from prospective dealers' says Nick Laird, Managing Director of SsangYong Motor UK. 'The huge improvement in the perception of our vehicles especially as expressed by the media, means we are engaging with new dealer partners who particularly appreciate our straightforward business model and focus on dealer profitability'.
David Rose, Head of Franchising for the brand, said 'I'm delighted Justin has joined the franchising team. After a year of consolidating the business, we are strengthening the management team to manage future growth which will come from increased vehicle sales, especially the new Musso pick up, parts sales and an expanding dealer network. We want to make it easy for dealers to acquire and operate the franchise, and have removed the barriers to ensure representing our brand is highly appealing. We have changed the traditional way people view a new vehicle franchise, and SsangYong will be known for the quality of its products, the ease of operating a dealership, and it's free! Our new approach means no up front costs, free signage, free special tools and free computer diagnostics. Not only that, SsangYong gives you industry leading margin retention on new vehicles, so all in all, highly compelling!'.
SsangYong is actively looking for dealers to represent the brand in a number of locations, and current open points include Birmingham - north, Bristol, Inverness, Liverpool, Oxford, Portsmouth, Southampton, Swansea, Teesside and Telford.
