Parts Manager

We are a family owned company established since 1899 and have locations in Guildford, Maidstone, Canterbury & Shoreham representing Vauxhall, Nissan, Fiat, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Fiat Professional, MG, SEAT, SsangYong and DAF Brands.
Due to the expansion and development of the FG Barnes Group, our thriving and growing DAF Guildford business is seeking to recruit a Parts Manager.
Reports to Dealer Principal
Principal duties and responsibilities
- Recruit, train and motivate, and
review correct amount of staff to meet both manufacturer and company
objectives
- Ensure that the correct amount
and content of parts stock to meet vehicle parc and customer demands
- Exceed whenever possible
manufacturer bonus targets
- Work to ensure company targets
and budgets are met or exceeded
- Forecast goals, objectives and
action plans for the department and strive to meet them
- Ensure parts and accessories
are available for resale
- Encourage and demonstrate
teamwork with all other departments
- Work with the Service Manager
to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for Warranty and Customer
workshop jobs
- Establish and maintain
purchasing policies including purchase orders, inventory guide figures, order
codes
- Prepare and administer an
annual operating budget for the parts department
- Understand, keep abreast of,
and comply with new product introductions and any legislation that may affect
parts sales
- Establish and maintain programs
designed to train, develop and motivate department employees
- Direct and schedule the
activities of all parts department employees
- Provide technical assistance to
parts department employees
- Monitor parts department
employees' payroll records
- Develop, enforce and monitor
guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction
- Establish and enforce a pricing
policy that balances volume, customer loyalty, and the cost of doing business
- Monitor and adjust inventory to
minimise obsolescence
- Ensure full participation by
staff in all manufacturer training and incentive programs
- Maintain a professional
