Parts Trade Representative

We are a family-owned company established since 1899 and have locations in Guildford, Maidstone, Canterbury and Shoreham representing Vauxhall, Nissan, Fiat, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, MG, SEAT, CUPRA, and DAF Brands. As part of our continued growth plans, we are looking to recruit a high calibre individual to join our FG Barnes Guildford branch as a Parts Trade Representative.

The Parts Trade Representative role is to deliver profitability, growth and customer satisfaction. You will be a member of the Parts Team and will report to the Parts Manager.

Your day will include:

  • Building and maintaining strong customer relations with a large portfolio of clients based across the South West, ensuring all KPI’s within the yearly business plan are excelled
  • Planning your own workload, working across local and surrounding areas visiting active, lapsed and new prospect clients
  • Assisting with technical product enquiries from both customers and colleagues alike
  • Using initiative to create new revenue streams within the local market creating relevant offers for both seasonal and promotional products
  • Generating sales invoices with correct discounts to relevant pricing structures
  • Liaising and working with brand representatives on a weekly basis, including any targeted group canvassing
  • Gaining knowledge, understanding and predicting market trends to ensure both correct stocking and competitive pricing
  • Monitoring client spending, following up where appropriate to ensure FG Barnes are meeting their needs with an aim to keeping customer retention high on both Genuine Nissan and 3rd party trade program products
  • Managing focused product sales and ensuring all teams are aware of current weekly promotions to drive business performance and achieve both monthly and quarter financial and product targets
  • Direct Reporting to Manufactures Systems


  • Outstanding communication skills – face to face, telephone and email
  • Confidence to promote the Company and its products to close sales deals
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Solution focussed
  • PC, Microsoft, web literate – Excel and Outlook
  • Full, clean driving licence


  • Proven track record of individual excellence
  • Strong sales background
  • Knowledge of Motor Vehicle Parts, consumables and lubricants
  • Previous experience with Kerridge and Microcat
