SEAT Leon wins ‘Best Family Car of the Year’ for second year running at What Car? Awards

The SEAT Leon took home the win for the second consecutive year after also winning the same title in 2021.

The SEAT Leon was praised as a “brilliant all-rounder” with thanks to its spacious interior, fantastic handling and ample standard kit, rendering the vehicle the outstanding proposition in its class for private car buyers and business alike.

Coming from the SEAT family, the SEAT Ibiza was also shortlisted for ‘Small Car of the Year’, commended for its tidy handling and roomy interior, all at a competitive price. Additionally, the SEAT Arona was also shortlisted for ‘Small SUV of the Year’, offering plenty of interior space, enjoyable handling and a good level of equipment.

Steve Huntingford, Editor at What Car?, said: “Like James Bond, a good family car needs to be able to turn its hand to just about anything, and for the second year in a row the Leon does that more convincingly than anything else you’ll spy in the family car category. It offers generous interior and boot space, lots of standard equipment, and a fun yet comfortable driving experience. And all for a very competitive price.”

The Leon’s win follows the success of last year when it received a number of awards, including the ‘Up to 1400kg’ category at the What Car? Tow Car Awards, ‘Best Medium Family Car’ award by Parkers and ‘Tow Car of the Year’ at the Caravan and Motorhome Club Tow Car Awards.

Suited for any family’s needs, the SEAT Leon combines an abundance of standard technology and options, available in 6 trims (SE, SE Dynamic, FR, FR Sport, Xcellence or Xcellence Lux), four engine options (petrol, mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid and diesel), as well as two bodystyles (hatch and Estate), the vehicle offers everything the driver and family needs.
