Vauxhall is celebrating its return to the CV Show in style with the world premiere of the all-new British-built Vivaro van.
Taking pride of place on the Vauxhall stand (EC40) at the NEC Birmingham and wowing UK show goers for the first time, the Luton-built Vivaro is shown in both panel van and doublecab body styles.

Vauxhall’s all-new Vivaro, which is based on Groupe PSA’s EMP2 platform, will help secure 1,250 jobs at its manufacturing plant in Luton. Vauxhall is the UK’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer with over one million Vivaro-type vans built since production started in 2001. Investment in the new vehicle will help increase the plant’s production capacity to 100,000 units per year.
With the new Vivaro, Vauxhall continues to implement its PACE! strategic plan by investing in growing market segments with high volumes. Vauxhall will offer a purely electric version of the new Vivaro next year, another milestone on the journey to electrifying the brand.
Also on the stand, the 2019 International Van of the Year, the Vauxhall Combo Cargo will make its UK show debut. And if that wasn’t enough, Vauxhall will also display a Movano L1H2 panel van mounted with a Hawk VZ135 reverse articulated telescopic device. This “cherry picker” vehicle enables a maximum working height of 13.7m.
New Vauxhall Vivaro
Vauxhall’s all-new Vivaro is a true class-leader. Equipped with the 100PS 1.5-litre engine, the standard wheelbase Vivaro has, provisionally, 22 per cent-lower emissions and returns 16 per cent-higher miles per gallon than the market leader. The same engine with 120PS – again, provisionally - has 27 per cent fewer emissions and achieves 57.6mpg – 14 per cent higher than the market leader. The Vivaro’s payload of up to 1489kgs is also higher than the market leader’s.
It’s full of innovation, as well. In terms of cargo length, thanks to the new Vivaro’s FlexCargo system, the maximum length it can take is a full 21 per cent longer than the market leader, and a staggering 43 per cent greater than the equivalent of the number two in the market.
Available to order now and arriving in Vauxhall showrooms this summer, the third generation Vivaro medium van is a based on a state-of-the-art platform and available in two lengths (L1H1 4.95m and L2H1 5.30m). Body styles include panel van, doublecab for up to six occupants and a platform chassis.
Priced from £22,918.33 excluding VAT, the Vivaro will be available in three trim levels: Edition, Sportive and Elite. Dual Side Sliding Door, Driver/Passenger Airbags and Cruise Control with speed-limiter are all available as standard on Vivaro for the first time.
Reflecting the demands of an evolving market, Sportive models are higher specification than the outgoing model with standard equipment including body coloured mirrors, handles and body side moulds, alarm, auto lights and wipers, acoustic windscreen and thickened side glazing.
The top-of-the range Elite model features the latest safety technology as standard including Lane Departure Warning, Speed Limit Information, Intelligent Speed Adaptation, Driver Attention Alert Level Three and Blind Spot Detection.
New Vauxhall Combo Cargo
Fresh from being voted International Van of the Year 2019, Vauxhall’s all-new Combo Cargo is available to order now priced from £16,968.33 excluding VAT.
The Combo Cargo is based on an all-new architecture and is offered in a selection of variants, including short wheelbase and long wheelbase with a crew van available later this year. It can carry a load volume of up to 4.4m3 and a payload of up to a tonne. Longer items up to 3440mm, such as pipes and ladders, can be stored safely and securely, thanks to the rear swing doors and FlexCargo load-through hatch.
In crew van body style, up to five occupants can be accommodated, while the load is safely stowed behind a partition wall. In addition, the rear bench can be folded down and the partition moved behind the front seats if required.
The Combo Cargo is available with numerous assistance systems, including a sensor-based overload indicator and offers excellent all-around visibility – the second camera in the passenger-side mirror reduces the blind-spot on this side of the vehicle.
