CUPRA Born finalist in Car of the Year award

The CUPRA Born is one of seven finalists in the sought-after Car of the Year 2022 awards!

The CUPRA Born shows what is possible from the CUPRA brand, as well as the shift to electrification and a more sustainable future. This follows on from the CUPRA Formentor’s nomination for the same award in 2021.

The CUPRA Born extends the brand’s already extensive electrified line-up, including four plug-in hybrid versions: CUPRA Leon, CUPRA Leon Estate, and CUPRA Formentor with its two different power outputs.

Built with advanced powertrain technology, the CUPRA Born maximum output is up to 170kW (231PS) with thanks to the e-Boost performance pack. It also has a battery size of up to 77kWh which delivers a range of approximately 335 miles for an even longer, more engaging driving experience.

This model is a car designed for drivers. It delivers electrifying sportiness with thanks to its power steering, Dynamic Chassis Control and ESC Sport, making it dynamic and easy to drive.

The CUPRA Born’s performance is matched with stimulating style on the outside and inside. The interior focus is placed strongly towards the driver as any CUPRA should be, integrating an environmentally friendly twist. A range of materials wrap the interior to create a feeling sportiness, refinement and quality, including bucket seats that use SEQUAL Yarn made from upcycled marine plastics as standard.

The prestigious Car of the Year 2022 award brings together a panel of the most respected motoring journalists from across Europe with the objective of finding the most outstanding new car on sale.

Consisting of 61 members, the panel represents 23 European countries, who come together to pick the overall champion. The winner will be announced in February 2022.
